Are You Ready for The Big Run Roanoke?

The Big Run Roanoke is back with a weeknight 5K on Wednesday, June 6.

The event is part of a national series of races held by Fleet Feet Sports stores across the country. All results will funnel up into a national leaderboard to determine who is the fastest runner in the country? Last year, Roanoke’s David Angell was!

National age group winners in the Male 15-19 (Samuel Haynes; 16:26) and in Male 60-69 (Paul Beers; 20:38) were also from Roanoke in 2017.

But speed isn’t the only thing that counts. Fleet Feet wants to see the whole community participate because, seriously, running together rocks. Here’s why:

  • You get to join Fleet Feet Sports communities across the country in doing something we’ve never done before — a nationally-coordinated 5K race taking place in different locations all on the same day.
  • It’s on a Wednesday — who couldn’t use a mid-week pump-up?
  • Every finisher gets a medal. Not just any medal. A very cool, make-your-friends-jealous medal.
  • The folks at Fleet Feet know some people. And some pretty cool brands (cough, cough, Brooks). They’re planning some fun raffle giveaways.

Registration for The Big Run is open. Save your spot because the event is limited to 300 people (and online registration ends Sunday). The course starts and finishes at Fallon Park and the race will get underway at 6:30 p.m.
