A 26 mile trail along an old railroad bed is proposed that would connect New Castle (in Craig County) to Eagle Rock (in Botetourt County).

VDOT is holding two public meetings which will be the publics first opportunity to see the proposed trail design and provide comment. These are “open house” style meetings which means you can come anytime during the posted hours.

• September 20, 4:00-6:00pm at the Eagle Rock Elementary School.
• September 21, 4:00-6:00pm at the Craig County High School.

NOTE: On September 20 VDOT will have an online survey where you can provide comment if you are unable to attend a meeting in person. Obtaining as many public comments as possible is critical to the trail’s future, please set a reminder to check the VDOT website for the survey link.
