Crafting With “Plarn”

Location: Morningside Urban Farm

Learn how to repurpose single use plastic shopping bags by turning them into “plarn”: yarn you can knit or crochet into sustainable crafted items like durable totes and waterproof outdoor sitting or sleeping mats. Basic knitting or crocheting skills not required, but will provide the best experience. Class led by artist Lynn Donihe.

Please park on the Morningside Urban Farm side of the street. The farm is located at the end of Morgan Ave. on the right side of the street. Children are welcome when accompanied by an adult.

COVID-19 GUIDELINES FOR OUTDOOR COMMUNITY HEALTH AND OUTREACH EVENTS:

1) Participants will go through a brief health screening upon arrival.

2) Social distancing guidelines will be followed and maintained (6 feet apart).

3) Face masks are recommended for attendees.

All outdoor events are weather dependent. Event will be canceled due to rain or extreme heat. You will receive an email in the event of a cancellation, or you may contact Carilion Direct at 540-266-600/(800) 422-8482 to confirm the event status.
