From traditional yoga classes to options that combine rock climbing and yoga or stand up paddling and yoga, you’ll find something to help you stretch and strengthen the body and mind. In addition to various yoga studios around the region, there are plenty of classes (check the events listings) and group activities offered at different times throughout the year.
Grace Yoga provides a loving and nurturing space that empowers and supports grace, health, happiness, and well-being. They encourage harmony, compassion, and acceptance so that all who receive services can be their authentic self. Monthly memberships are available and classes offerings include beginner yoga, gentle yoga, vinyasa flow, yoga fundamentals, and yoga sculpting.
The Centre at VitaZen wants everyone to benefit from the many positive results a yoga practice has to offer with yoga that’s affordable and obtainable for all. The studio practices Hatha yoga and explores different styles such as beginner Kundalini, Vinyasa, Yin, and cosmic rhythms dance.
Yoga and rock climbing go hand-in-hand. Yoga increases total body strength, while increasing flexibility and mental clarity and concentration. All things that make for stronger more focused climbers. The River Rock offers free yoga classes for members ($12 per class for nonmembers) on Monday and Wednesday each week at 6:30 p.m.
Uttara Yoga Studio is a safe, nurturing yoga community located in the Sanctuary at Five Points in Roanoke. The goal of the studio is to help students to become healthier, happier and more comfortable with their bodies; teach them ways to calm and focus their minds; help them become stronger and more vital; and re-connect to their inner divine light. The studio offers classes at several times each day and special events.
