Pete’s Pick: Join the Fall Waterways Cleanup

clean valley day volunteer

Can you spare a couple of hours on Saturday?

From 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, teams and individuals from all over the region will work together to clean streams, creeks, and rivers in the area. The 16th Annual Fall Waterways Cleanup put on by the Clean Valley Council is an easy opportunity for you to give back.

Since 2001, volunteers have collected over 275 tons of litter and countless tires from our waterways. Commonly found items include bottles, cans, cigarette butts, bait cans, and plastic bags as well as some more unusual items such as bikes, a desoto hubcap, diapers, a full furniture suite, toys, refrigerators, and more.

Here’s all you need to do: Pick a location and register.

All the bags, gloves, and materials you need will be provided.

Make it a great weekend … outside!
